CBD Health Box Frequently Asked Questions
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol is one of over 100 hundred cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. CBD is one of the two most abundant cannabinoids found in cannabis, with the other one being THC.
Is CBD Legal?
In the United States, CBD derived from industrial hemp (legally defined as any cannabis plant which contains 0.3% THC or less) is federally legal in all 50 states.
CBD derived from cannabis (legally defined as any cannabis plant which contains more than 0.3% THC) is illegal and classified as a Schedule 1 Drug. The exception to this rule is within the borders of any state which has legalized cannabis on a recreational basis. In those states, CBD is fully legal.
Additionally, some states have legalized medical cannabis. In those states, both hemp-derived and cannabis-derived CBD are obtainable via a prescription; however, with prescriptions the CBD is almost always cannabis-derived.
Is CBD FDA-Approved?
Yes. CBD is FDA-Approved as a supplement.
Recently, CBD also was approved by the FDA as a drug in the form of a new drug called Epidiolex, which is an epilepsy seizure medication. It will become available in the Fall of 2018. Epidiolex will only be prescribed to patients who have two types of extremely severe seizures: Dravet Syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome.
With this latest ruling, it is possible that other CBD products will soon follow in the future, as the FDA will de-schedule CBD from its current status as a Schedule 1 drug.
But CBD has been approved by the FDA to be taken as a supplement. What this means is that it simply has not been approved as a medication (outside of the example above).
Why is CBD approved as a supplement only (outside of severe seizures)?
CBD is useful for a variety of reasons. While there is extreme potential for CBD as a medication, it is currently only approved as a supplement (outside of the recent approval of Epidiolex).
In 1992, scientists discovered that every human being has an endocannabinoid system. This system essentially regulates all of our core body systems. If scientists were not studying cannabis, they may have never discovered this core body system.
If you are not getting enough cannabinoids, you can become cannabinoid-deficient which impacts the functioning of your endocannabinoid system. Therefore taking CBD as a supplement can help to keep your body functioning at its best. Much like Vitamin C, CBD has the ability to prevent as opposed to treat certain conditions. This is not to say it has no medicinal value. It is just to say that until further research is done, it has officially only approved by the FDA as a supplement.
What is CBD Health Box?
CBD Health Box is a subscription box service featuring hemp-derived CBD products. All CBD products in CBD Health Box are 100% legal and meant to be used as supplements. Our box is an excellent way to try out the many different ways to use CBD and figure out which product works best for you.
The real advantage of this subscription box is that CBD is notoriously an extremely expensive item with so many different variations made by so many different companies. There is no consistency from one product to the other in terms of quality and there is no regulation as it has not been FDA-Approved. (The FDA has stringent regulations for drugs but very relaxed regulations for supplements).
It can be tricky for even an experienced individual to ascertain which company and which product will be right for them or their loved ones. For a novice, it can be near-impossible.
We take the guesswork out of the process and curate the best products for you each and every month.
CBD Health Box offers a variety of CBD products to our subscribers at extremely discounted rates. If and when you find a product that you love, we also provide special promotional offers for you to continue to acquire that particular CBD product at discounted rates through the distributor directly.
I Tried CBD but I Didn’t Feel Any Benefits. Why?
There is tremendous variability in the CBD being sold throughout the US. A recent study found that nearly 70 percent of those products had different amounts of CBD than were specified on the product label, with many even testing positive for the psychotropic THC even though the products are legally supposed to only have trace amounts of THC.
CBD Health Box strives to only use those products of the highest quality and reputation. When possible, we include products which were American-grown, third-party lab tested, organic and which utilize full spectrum CBD products instead of CBD Isolate products.
Finally, even when taking the highest quality CBD, it still will impact every person differently. It cannot be taken with the hopes that instantly after one dose you will be cured of every ailment. It is not a snake oil or a miracle drug. It has amazing benefits but sometimes, you need to take it consistently over a period of time to really start to see the results.
Can I Try CBD Health Box Before Committing to a Subscription?
Yes. We offer a free trial month on our one-year subscription box. Just pay for the shipping and we’ll take care of the rest.
If you are not 100% satisfied, you can cancel within 72 hours of receipt of your first box with no further obligation.
Is the Packaging Discreet?
Yes. We send you out your monthly box at the end of the month in a plain box. Even though the products in the box are fully legal, we believe that discretion is a key point for many subscribers who don’t want to broadcast their business to wandering eyes.
I signed up for CBD Health Box but I have not received any confirmation of my subscription. What should I do?

I signed up for CBD Health Box. When will I receive my first box?
Our boxes are distributed at the end of the month. This means that if you signed up at the end of the month, you may potentially have to wait a few weeks for your first box as we only make one shipment per month to all of our subscribers. If you signed up in the third week of the month, you will receive your first box within a week.

I Live in a state where cannabis is legal. Can I order a CBD Health Box with cannabis-derived CBD or THC products?
At the moment we do not offer that option. However, we are setting up locations in states such as California and Nevada. Once we are established in those locations, we will open up state-specific boxes which offer additional options for our subscribers in those states. Stay tuned.
I tried CBD but I don’t think it is helping. What should I do?
CBD is a complicated supplement. It works differently from person-to-person and is dependent on a multitude of factors. Sometimes people feel instant reliief from CBD and other times it takes a period of time before results are felt.
Whether the CBD you use is from an isolate (only containing CBD) or a full spectrum plant extract (containing all of the cannabinoids and terpenes found in cannabis sans THC), it can also have a significant impact on the effectiveness of the CBD.
Many studies also point to CBD being most effective when derived from cannabis as opposed to industrial hemp. CBD is also said to work best with a small or even an equal amount of THC present in addition to the other cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids found in the cannabis plant. This is known as the Entourage Effect. For now, the best option is a full spectrum plant extract which utilizes everything but the THC.
Ultimately, it is best to think of CBD working similarly to Vitamin C . Despite many myths attesting to the opposite, Vitamin C is not an effective treatment or cure for the common cold. But what Vitamin C can do with regular use is to help prevent colds before they happen, in addition to other illnesses such as scurvy.
